Synopsis

Four immigrant teens from the former Soviet Union explore their often painful experiences of coming to America and the feeling of being stuck between two cultures.

About the director

Aleksandra Gezentsvey produced this film at 18 at the HBO Young Filmmakers Lab at the Prospect Park YMCA, while a senior James Madison High School, Brooklyn. Today, she is a freshman at SUNY Purchase studying filmmaking. Alex is a native of Uzbekistan and emmigrated to America at age 16. Alex is currently finishing a film for Intnernational YMCA's Global Teens program about a group of NYC students who visited an American Indian reservation in South Dakota in the Summer of 2003.

Notes

The director Aleksandra Gezentsvey will be available for Q&A after the screening. Executing producers Stephanie Williams and John Williams will also be in attendance.
