PRESENTATION
Mission
The WBFF inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the exposure and
promotion of independent filmmakers and their projects, worldwide.
2000 Philosophy
white2000axis, the 3rd WBFF edition, promotes a candid approach to the future
and connects Brooklyn to the rest of the world.
When & Where
The 3rd WBFF edition will be held from May 10th through the 14th, 2000 at the
Commodore Theatre, 329 Broadway in Williamsburg Brooklyn, NY. The Commodore
is a 1920s, 1,000-seat theater where Woody Allen shot scenes of "Bullets over
Broadway".
About Williamsburg
Williamsburg is one of New York’s most upcoming neighborhoods and hosts the
second largest film community in New York. The WBFF is the first international,
competitive Film Festival in Brooklyn.
About the 2000 Festival
> For its 3rd edition the WBFF received over 500 submissions.
> The 63 selected films will compete in the following categories: feature film
(8), documentary (9), experimental film (18), and short subject (28).
> At the WBFF 2000, 19 countries will be represented as follows: In America
5 countries, 41 films: USA (34), Canada (4), El Salvador (1), Mexico (1), Brasil
(1) - In Europe 11 countries, 17 films: France (2), Italy (2), Estonia (2),
Denmark (2), Germany (3), Croatia (1), Serbia (1), Russia (1), Norway (1), Lithuania
(1), England (1) - In Asia 3 countries, 3 films: Korea (1), Japan (1), Thailand

> Most films in competition at the WBFF2000 are premieres: world premiere (8),
US Premiere (22), East Coast Premiere (21)
> The Festival board selects the best film of the year among the winners of
each category, awarding the Grand Chameleon Award ($30,000 in film services),
sponsored by Panavision, CineCall Soundtracks, Xeno-Lights, and The Family Productions.
