Hurikan - shortlisted for the 98th Academy Awards®

Hurikan, short film by Jan Šaška, US Premiere at the 2025 BFF, produced by Last Films, MAUR film, Laïdak Films, Artichoke and Aeon Production, has been shortlisted for the 98th Academy Awards® in the Best Animated Short Film category. BFF Announces a Change in Leadership

BFF welcomes Brandon Harrison as the new Executive Director of the Festival. With deep programming experience and a passion for independent storytelling, Brandon will lead BFF into the 29th festival in 2026 – carrying forward the legacy created by Marco Ursino and Susan Mackell while beginning a thrilling new chapter.
