THE ORGANIZATION
Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is an International, competitive festival. BFF mission is to provide a public forum in Brooklyn in order to advance public interest in films and the independent production of films. To draw worldwide attention to Brooklyn as a center for cinema. To encourage the rights of all Brooklyn residents to access and experience the power of independent filmmaking, and to promote artistic excellence and the creative freedom of artists without censure.

THE DRIVE
Every year the Brooklyn Film Festival donates complementary tickets to Brooklyn Schools and offers to Students & Senior Citizens discounted tickets: $12 instead of $15. One of BFF’s oldest programs, KidsFilmFest, an event for and by young filmmakers and film buffs, this year held at Made in NY Media Center by IFP, will be free of charge for all kids and teens attending.
Every year, BFF offers free of charge for all BFF Exchange at Kickstarter, a full day of panels, seminars, and film pitching. Occasionally, BFF offers screenings at various Brooklyn venues throughout the year also free of change.

BFF’s competition and its award system are in line with the festival’s main goal to support talented filmmakers through their next project and career. Award-winning films from the Brooklyn Film Festival have gone on to be nominated and awarded at the British Academy Awards (BAFTAs), the American Academy Awards (Oscars), and the Canadian Screen Award, for which BFF is a proud qualifying festival.
