About the director
Sacha Amaral is a Brazilian screenwriter, director and teacher, based in Argentina. Graduated in stage direction at the National University of Arts (UNA), where he is currently a professor in the dramaturgy department. His first feature film as a screenwriter, Adiós Entusiasmo (2017), had its world premiere at the Berlinale 2017, he won the competition at FICCI (Cartagena) and at BAFICI 2017 (Buenos Aires). His first short film “Great are the deserts“ was part of the short film competition at BAFICI 2019 and at Cinélatino (Toulouse). His latest short film “Billy Boy“ was part of the official selection of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival And various festivals such as: Bogoshorts, Queer Lisboa, Chéries-Chéris, Sofia IFF, among others.
