Synopsis
Two long-distance lovers search for a way forward (or backward) when the bedrock of their twenty-year relationship cracks. A midwestern rumination on loving across space and time.
About the director
Rachel B. Joyce is a filmmaker and theatremaker originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For over fourteen years, she has been the co-artistic director of New York indie theatre company Less Than Rent with her husband James Presson. LTR has developed dozens of new plays and musicals and has presented sixteen full productions in many venues across Manhattan. As an actor, her work has been seen on tv shows including: I’m Dying Up Here (Showtime), The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show (Netflix), Modern Love (Prime), Younger (TVLand), and many more. Her self-produced web series Royally, in which she starred as a party princess con-artist, won the Critics Award at the New York Television Festival, and she won Best Actress in Comedy at both NYTVF and the Indie Series Awards in LA. Hiawatha is her first short film.
