Filmmaker's note
From as early as I can remember, the world has always felt like a story waiting to be told. Growing up immersed in the film industry, I developed a deep appreciation for the power of visual storytelling. My journey as a filmmaker began at just six years old, and since then, I’ve continuously sought ways to express the complexities of human emotion, connection, and resilience through my work.
My film The Petting Zoo, a stop-motion animation short, is a reflection of my fascination with blending intricate, handcrafted techniques with storytelling. I believe in the magic of detail—the way small, seemingly insignificant moments can carry profound meaning—and animation allows me to explore that in ways other mediums may not. Through my work, I strive to build worlds that invite the audience into a new perspective, giving them space to feel and interpret in their own way.
As a female filmmaker, I am committed to creating stories that are authentic and representative of voices that have often been underrepresented in mainstream cinema. I want my work to challenge conventions, empower new narratives, and contribute to a more inclusive cinematic landscape. Currently studying film at California State University of Northridge, I am continuously evolving as a storyteller, driven by a passion to create films that resonate emotionally while also leaving space for reflection.
For me, filmmaking is not just about creating a product, it’s about sparking conversations, evoking emotions, and connecting people across different experiences. Through my films, I hope to leave an impact that goes beyond the screen.
