Synopsis
Mara is a disillusioned actor dealing with the terror of time. When she’s thrown into a classroom of kids rehearsing a Disneyfied version of Chekhov's THREE SISTERS — her favorite play about existential longing — she swan dives into her own crisis of aging, nostalgia, and the loss of childhood dreams.
About the director
Sarah Baskin is an award-winning filmmaker and actor, originally from Montreal and now based in New York. She has worked extensively on stage and screen, with recent performances in Netflix's A Family Affair (opposite Zac Efron and Joey King), Ramy, and independent films that have screened at Sundance, Cannes, TIFF, and Telluride. She is currently collaborating with playwright Cheri Magid on a one-woman play A Poem and a Mistake, which premiered at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art and heads to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer. As a director, her short film Les Câlins Cheaps (Cheap Hugs) screened at over 30 festivals worldwide.
