Synopsis

Azaa and Shagai, a couple in their late 20s, are livingin Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia with their 6-year-old daughter. On the verge of divorce, they search for happiness in empty, high-rise buildings. Stuck in their car in the infamous city traffic, they fight it out.

Stuck in their car in the infamous city traffic, they fight it out.BIOGRAPHIE RÉAL-FRLkhagvadulam Purev-Ochir est une scénariste et réalisatrice mongole née en 1989. Après un bachelor en réalisation à l’Université Dokuz Eylul (Turquie), elle a travaillé et enseigné à la Mongolian School of Film, Radio, and Television (MNB). Elle a également donné des cours à l’Institut de la Cinématographie. Elle a obtenu son Master de scénariste à la FAMU (République tchèque) et à l’école KinoEyes European Masters (Portugal). Son court-métrage «Mountain Cat» fait partie de la sélection Officielle du Festival de Cannes 2020. Son dernier court-métrage «Snow inSeptember» a remporté le Lion d’or du meilleur court métrage au Festival de Venise 2022 avant de remporter le prix du meilleur court-métrage au Festival de Toronto 2022. Son premier long-métrage, «Un jeune chaman», a remporté le prix du Meilleur acteurde la section Orizzonti du Festival de Venise 2023 et était le représentant de la Mongolie aux Oscars 2024. Ces deux derniers projets sont produits par Aurora Films, en co-production avec la société mongole Guru Media. En 2025, elle réalise un nouveau court-métrage intitulé «Une fenêtre plein sud».DIRECTOR’S BIO-ENGLkhagvadulam Purev-Ochir is a Mongolian screenwriter and director, born in 1989. She graduated from Dokuz EylulUniversity (Turkey) with a BA in film direction, then went on to work and teach at the Mongolian School of Film, Radio, and Television (MNB). She also taught at the Institute of Cinematography. She later completeda certificate program in scriptwriting atFAMU (Czech Republic) and through the KinoEyes European Masters program (Portugal). Her short film “Mountain Cat” was part of the Official Selection at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival. Her latest short film, “Snow in September”, won the Golden Lion for BestShort Film at the Venice Film Festival before winning the Best Short Film at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. Her first feature “City of Wind” won the Best Actor award in the Orizzonti section at the 2023 Venice Film Festival and was selectedas the Mongolian entry to the 2024 Oscars. Her two most recent projects were produced by Aurora Films in co-production with the Mongolian company Guru Media. In 2025, she directed a new short film titled “A south facing window”
