About the directors

Thomas McKenna - Thomas McKenna is a New York director/DP who began his career capturing Guinness World Record fireworks displays before moving into documentary and commercial work. He earned a Telly Award for the web series Food/Groups and served as DP for the Amazon Prime series Instachef. In 2022, he founded Sparkletone Pictures, a production company focused on documentary-style narrative and commercial films and content. Thomas’ work is driven by the feeling an image can create, with a focus on capturing raw, natural moments that are both familiar and intentional.

Ashley Hernandez - Ashley Hernandez is a Queens-based creative with a background in writing and a practice rooted in still and moving images. She approaches storytelling as both craft and instinct, shaping narratives that are thoughtful, visually driven, and grounded in lived experience.

Ashley has worked across short films, music videos, and commercials. Tommy Speed marks her first film as co-director and producer.

Max Heimberger - Max Heimberger is an independent filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. He focuses on real-world stories with flawed but relatable characters, drawing inspiration from a life knowing loss and love, and the dizzying pursuit of truth. He is currently in post-production on a black comedy short entitled "Haha…not funny."
