Synopsis

Home is inspired by the experience of pregnancy and is an exploration into the idea of the womb as a place of origin. Home is a place we begin from that we long to return to or escape from. The audio track is composed of recorded womb sounds that I have mixed so that they are sometimes comforting, sometimes menacing, sometimes hypnotic.

About the director

From age eight until age twenty, I studied and worked as a professional ballet dancer. At age 20, I suffered a back injury, quit dancing, and decided to go to art school. I received my BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in 1994 and my MFA from the School of Visual Arts in 1996. In 2000, I won a Pollock Krasner Foundation grant for my sculpture installations. Most recently, I have been experimenting in filmmaking as a new outlet for my artwork.
