Synopsis

G.O.A.T. is a 9-minute tragicomic road trip about unprocessed trauma, miscommunication, and... a goat. Set in rural Netherlands, the film explores the aftermath of a stillbirth through absurdity and tenderness, as a couple’s bottled-up grief finds an unexpected release on their way to a bizarre goat-themed festival.

About the director

Bunnik writes and directs genre films that portray characters who struggle with their own vulnerability. These stories are often situated in a secluded world with strong visual focus on the body of his characters. His shorts have screened at over 50 festivals (a.o. IFFR, IDFA, Encounters, Uppsala) and received awards worldwide. Currently he is developing his feature script Circle Land and the short film The Mother, The Son & The Wolf. Besides this Bunnik teaches screenplay writing at Emerson College (Dutch Campus).
