About the director
Sam Jonas was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in film in 2023. The Rabbit Hole is his debut feature film, and he currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Outside of filmmaking he loves basketball, painting, ultimate frisbee, and going for walks. He puts the moron in oxymoron.
Filmmaker's note
The Rabbit Hole was made on a shoe-string budget with (primarily) a crew of 3 people, and was shot mostly in my 200 square-foot NYC studio apartment. This was a true labor of love, and a testament to the will-power of independent filmmakers. The film explores humans' fragile relationship with each other, civilization, and the natural world. I hope this film becomes a breeding ground for questions and ideas about our own place in the ecosystem and universe, all while producing laughs along the way.
