About the director

Ina holds BFA, from the University of Belgrade, MFA in Arts, from the University of California, Los Angeles. She continued her studies in Tokyo's National University of Fine Arts & Music, and Kyoto Seika College as a Japan Foundation Fellow. Ina has been exhibiting in Europe, USA, Japan and Singapore and is a member of the Slovenian Fine Art Arts Association, Singapore-China Association for Advancement of Science and Technology, (SCAAST), and has been a Japan Foundation Fellow since 1991. She is currently Assistant Professor in the School of Art, Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Drawing on her long carrier of a painter and sculptor she merges painting methodologies, avant-garde filmmaking and sound cultures, into meaningful, immersive 3D animated public installations. In an effort to define relationship between technology, materiality and aesthetics her recent research is crossing into experiential 3D stereo animated pictorials spaces, interactive painted surfaces, human computer interface based on electroencephalography (EEG) technology and new emotive based digital animation experiences.

Filmmaker's note

Emotion Study is a film exploring possibility of creating new immersive pictorial spaces. Rooted in the years I worked as a painter and a sculptor in studio and with tangible materials these animated experiments were driven by limitations of the two- dimensional painted canvas.
