Synopsis
Values is a five-minute computer animated thesis film produced at the University of Southern California in the animation and digital arts program. It was inspired by Van's relationship with his father, Nguyen Phan. Value's simple and minimalist designs encourage the audience to use psychological closure to fill in missing details, based on their own personal experiences.
About the director
Van Phan recently graduated in animation at the University of Southern California film school. He previously attended UCLA as an undergraduate where he received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Business-Economics. His first film, Wild Card, has won several awards and was screened at over forty international festivals.
