what: On Saturday, June 2 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Made in NY Media Center by IFP, BFF will present the 14th annual kidsfilmfest, which aims to discover, expose and promote children’s filmmakers while drawing worldwide attention to Brooklyn. The film program is tailored for children of all ages (films are rated “G”), and consists of numerous short animation, live-action and documentary films. A Q & A with the filmmakers and a filmmaker’s workshop usually follows each program. Tickets are $15 adult, children 12 and under are free. – KIDSFILMFEST

what: Reception on the Alamo’s Roof Deck sponsored by CUNY – Complimentary Sixpoint On Monday, June 4th, 2018, Brooklyn Film Festival welcomes CUNY’s Graduate School of Journalism with a block of short documentaries at the Alamo Drafhouse Downtown Brooklyn (445 Albee Square W. #4, Brooklyn, NY). The evening starts at 6pm with a special presentation and mixer on the Alamo’s rooftop deck for filmmakers and audience members interested in learning more about the documentary program at CUNY. Showtime starts at 8:30 pm (a ticketed screening) with a short doc by a CUNY student followed by a block of short docs curated by BFF Programmer Brandon Harrison. Stick around after the screening for the presentation of the inaugural CUNY Best Short Doc Award presented to one the BFF projects showcased on that evening.

what: For the seventh consecutive year, on June 9 from 11am-5pm at Kickstarter, the festival will continue its BFF Exchange, ultimately aimed at connecting filmmakers with film distributors.
